Very true and well-past time. There must be bold leadership centered on democracy, justice, and equality applying no half-measures to a nation on fire.
Well done brother. Will Hungary be our inspiration? As you sagaciously observed in a prior substack, we are who we have always been. I fear that a country that elected Trump twice is beyond redemption. Now with the oligarchs acting like jack booted thugs, aided and abetted by thoroughly corrupt and craven S Ct, the mountain has become higher and steeper. I would note that Mandami announced eliminating a $12bb city debt. Isolated pockets of inspiration and yes resistance exist but confronted with a Congress that won’t even eliminate stock trading amongst its members, it is hard for old folks like me to see the glass half full. Much love and respect, brother.
Thank you Allan. Over the next five months if a large majority of independent voters, non-party affiliated, and those who withheld a vote in protest understand what has happened, the deep corruption, insider trading, hostility toward allies, policy failures, layoffs, and inflation, there could be a reckoning.
I’m not optimistic, “The 3C’s of the Apocalypse” was probably as “feel good” as I get. The question is, even if there is a massive wave against the current direction, will new leadership recognize the absolute need to be bold and assertive enough to rapidly rebuild our institutions in a manner that prevents them from being overwhelmed by insane tech bros with hoarded wealth- much of which should be clawed back to fix the toxic mess they and other billionaires created.
It is time to repair the destruction caused by the Republican bulldozers.
